Membership

Membership in the Butternut & Schnur Lake Association (BSLA) is open to any individual who is 18 years old or older who resides on or within one mile of either Butternut or Schnur Lake for at least one month during each calendar year, or any individual who owns real estate within that same one-mile area. Membership dues are currently $25.00 per year and are due by the annual meeting each year. In order to retain voting rights and receive all Association communications, dues must be paid by the date of the Association’s annual meeting which is currently being held around Labor Day each year.

There are several benefits to membership:

The main benefit is that through your membership, you are supporting the efforts of the Association to improve our lakes. Membership dues are the main source of revenue for the Association and go toward funding the various lake projects undertaken by the Association throughout the year.

A second benefit is to keeping informed on what is happening with or concerning our lakes. This includes information on zoning issues, DNR rulings, Association projects, the health of the fish population and water quality.

In addition to the above: members have voting rights, which are typically exercised at the annual meeting; will receive our periodic newsletter and other communications either by direct mail or e-mail; and will be included in any surveys taken by the Association.

So, why wait? Take an active interest in our lakes. Contact any of the BSLA Board members for your membership today. If you do not wish to contact the Board directly, you can send an email to: butternutschnurlakeassociation@gmail.com with your comments, questions or membership form.

Anyone interested in receiving a copy of the by-laws should contact any board member.
